It follows the sun throughout the day, increasing production by40%. 12 solar cell-covered “petals” open up at the beginning of the day when the sun comes out and close at the end of the day. As a bonus, they clean themselves with brushes added to the back of each petal.Exploration Portal, opening 2025, will feature three Smart Flowers to offset the electrical needs of exhibits and lighting. With a special display, Museum visitors and staff can see real-time data about energy generation.
